Zambia

Good Morning!

Well we are ready to head out tomorrow.  We are almost packed, very excited, and ready to go.

Last night I could not go to sleep....just anticipating the trip.  My mind is captivated by the beauty of the children in Zambia....but their empty eyes and empty stomachs play over and over in my mind.  I struggle with the fact that their life is so hard - that they are hungry, desperate, and left alone.  Poverty and AIDS have taken so much.  It weighs on my heart.

I cannot wait to get there to hold their fragile bodies.  I cannot wait to replace their tattered clothes.   I cannot wait to feed their tummies with good food....and cannot wait to tell them about a Father in Heaven who has never abandoned them.   He loves them and His eyes never leave them.  He knows they are priceless, He knows they each have a plan and a purpose, He passionately cares for each of them by name.

Two weeks in Zambia does not feel long enough......2012 is coming...

The summer program is called Camp Life.  Family Legacy will touch about 7,500 children this summer with the Gospel.  Americans will get to know their 10-12 children very well during their week of camp.  The children are also put into the system so we can touch base with them throughout the year.

FLMI also has Lifeway Christian Schools.  This is where the children are placed in a school that is the the community school.  Where they have real education and can be equipped to move beyond poverty.  SO EXCITING!!

They also have the Tree of Life Children's Village....so amazing.  Thisi s where the children are taken out of their situations and LIVE at the Tree of Life.  Clean homes, food, education....and a childhood. :)

We want to make a difference for every child in Zambia....but it happens one child at a time!

Blessings,
Stephanie
